    flat pattern generation

I want to "skin" a 3d shape and then apply desired cut lines and then have solid works output the flat pattern shapes. IE Sailboat sails. Is this possible?

    Thanks for your time

Yes and no.. you can't flatten a 3D shape [curved in two directions like a sphere] so if your wanting to do a spiniker [sp] your going to have problems... a simple 2D [end profile] shape would work however..
