    OUT OF ALIGMENT

This is a Lathe Nakamura WT-10

Is there a need to warm up a CNC???
I ask this becouse sometimes the C axis of this machine seems to be off with the main spindle. some drilling the need to be the same in degrees are off.. only in the sub spindle.
I'm trying to find words to explain this , I hope I did good.

Please any ideas will be appreciated.

Hi! If you are running parts with critical tolerances then I suggest you warm it up. I used to run a swiss lathe with a sub micron capability and the tolerances of the part are +/-.0001, if the machine is idle even for 10 minutes the measurements change dramatically.

Yes, I started doing that and it is helping a bit.
But I think that my problem still there, in order to make a hole at 5 degrees I have to program 0 degress (C axis).

Is like a backlash in X or Y axis.

    Anybody outhere have any ideas.

    Thank you in advance

    Small reverse rotation.

I often program a rotary position back a bit from the desired position then rotate to the final position, so the approach is always from the same direction.

That's how I make my backlash irrelevant.

Doing fine micron level stuff, my machine needs a long time to settle down.
Once it is working, you want to skip meals. Turn it off and it cools.
Super X3. 3600rpm. Sheridan 6"x24" Lathe + more. Three ways to fix things: The right way, the other way, and maybe your way, which is possibly a faster wrong way.
