Phase fuses blow on 6T spindle drive

I have a Ikegai With a fanuc 6T Control. DC spindle Drive No. A06B-6041-H106.

The phase fuses blow upon a run command. I checked all of the SCR's for shorts but all seem ok. I measured the resistance on the motor armature and it reads about 2 tenths of an ohm, seems kinda low to me. I measured the resistance on another motor and it measured 7 tenths of an ohm.

I would appreciate any help on this problem.
    Thanks, jerry

Do the fuses hang in if you disconnect the motor?
Inspect the brushes and the commutator.
Resistance reading will not tell you much.

Hi Al thanks for the quick reply
I haven't tried turning it on with the motor disconnected. But the fuses don't blow until I tell the spindlw to go. I will check the brushes and comutator as you suggest. again thanks.

Also if you have access to a Megger it will detect grounds etc.
