    Question System Variable Z Work Shift

    Gentlemen,
    I have a Kia lathe with a Fanuc O-TD control on it and I need to know what the system variable for Z axis work shift (not G54 to G59 workpiece offset)
    but the work shift. Thank You

    Actually #5203 is for Z-axis external offset on a milling machine. On a lathe, it is #5202.

    For work coordinate shift, the system variable is #2601 (for Z-axis). It shifts all the coordinate systems (G54 etc) by the specified amount, in the opposite direction. For example, if Z-display is 100, it would change to 110, if you specify #2601 = 10.

    Coordinate shift is not available on milling machines.
