    G284 is rigid tapping, right?
Try a floating tap holder and G84.

The M3 is not required to actually start the spindle
    it can safely be deleted

The G84 and G284 forces the spindle CW when the tool goes to the R-plane when starting the cycle and stops the spindle at when it returns to the R-plane before going to the next hole.

Prove off the cycle away from the part, for your own peace of mind
