G540 not homing a slaved axis

I have y and a axis slaved on my G540. The slaving works fine when jogging and driving the mill but when I try to home the axis only the Y motor spins then the A motor spins when the Y has found home. They are trying to home independently of each other. "Big problem when you are driving a big gantry with two motors, it tends to want to rip your gantry in half" I can get the Y-A slaving axis to home but then the A axis tries to home. How do I make sure my A axis does not try to home while at the same time making sure slaved Y-A axis homes. I'm using Mach3. I've tried using the Mach3Mill.XML file from the Gecko site but I get the same thing. I have limits on the X Y and Z which I am also using as home switches.

I was using a cheap ebay driver board with no homing problems using the slaved Y-A. The Grecko G540 is a tremendous improvement over the ebay board except for this one nagging issue. I'm sure it's something I don't have correct in the Mach3 setup.

    Any ideas?

In general config, try checking the box "Home slave with master". I'm a little unsure of what you're saying, but that might work.

I was looking for something like that in Mach3. I will look again. It sounds like that is what I need. Basically the Y-A slaved axis does not do homing together. They jog and drive together but not home. When I do a homing command, only the Y side moves. When I hit a limit switch then the A side moves.
