    Question 2D cut out question

This question is going to show just how much of a newbie I am. I am very new to CNC. My machine has just come on-line, and I want to do some 2 dimensional cut outs. How do I cut completely through and keep from tearing up my table? If it's inevitable, what recommendations are there to minimize cutting into the table? I don't have vaccuum hold-down, just an MDF board.

You could add another thin layer of MDF on top of the MDF you already have.

Then change out the thinner MDF as needed.

Only drawback, you'll lose some Z-axis travel...

Thanks. If I did add a vacuum table, is it correct to assume I would have to sacrafice the effect of the table in favor or cutting entirely through the piece. Is there a work around?
