    Mastercam MPMASTER

    Hi everyone,

We are currently working with Mcam X which is serving us well on 3 Different CNC controls. I have been working with the MPMASTER post because I like alot of the options available with it(far superior to MPFAN). I am trying to modify the MPMASTER post to assemble the progs. the way we are used to seeing them but ran into a few roadblocks and was hoping for some feedback as to how I should proceed.

    Listed are a few thing I would like to address;

    l) Mpmaster doesn't stage tools when "stage tools" is set to "1"(as is mentioned in the post).
I had success with a earlier MPFAN but like alot of options that Mpmaster has.
    Any Ideas?
    2) Does anyone know how to get Mpmaster to put ALL the tool comments for multiple tools at the beginning of the program?
    3) Is is possible to reset the Subprogram counter for multiple machine groups?
I have been able to modify Mpmaster to assign successive subprogram #'s relative to main program # designations which is helpful with Fanuc controls, but when susequent machine groups (with subprograms) are added, the subprogram #'s are labeled with the offset of the previous machine group's subprogram #'s.
    I hope that was clear.
If not here is an example:
    Presently;
    Machine group 1
    main prg.#1
    1st sub #2
    2nd sub #3
    3rd sub #4
    Machine group 2
    main prg.#1
    1st sub #5
    2nd sub #6
    3rd sub #7

    I would like to have:
    Machine group 2
    main prg.#1
    1st sub #2
    2nd sub #3
    3rd sub #4
I hope that makes it clearer.
Any help in these areas would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanx in advance.
    S.K.

    1. Stage tool should be defined in CD not post.
    2. I loked through the mpmaster post and did not find tool_info called out. Compare with mpfan to see code.
    3. are you posting all machine groups at once or seperatly? I have not ran into this problem yet. I will have to look into it later.

1/ I agree, ---open the "Machine Definition File", goto the "Tools" section and enable stage tools check-mark

2/ the switch to output the tool list after the header is in the post ( general output settings section ) set "tool_table" to 1

3/Each machine group should be posting to a different NC filename
once you select an operation to sub, it locks the sub-number(name) to eliminate any cut and paste error
....and if you post it all to a default directory, what happens to the group#1, #2 sub-program when you post out group#2 subs
.............all the group#1 subs will be over-written.

... just think of the sparks, and the $$$ the repairs will cost, the boss will be impressed
