    sheetcam in linux

downloaded the 1.0.3 version of sheetcam to my linux box which has wine installed.
running the sheetcam .exe file seems to be able to handle it just fine, no problems this far, but I've only tried a very small program.
After saving the post processor file as a .tap, I had to edit somethings out in a text editor and then saved as an .nc file, which EMC is able to read and understand.
For those running linux, this may be another alternative to the lack of CAM out software.

Now that is interesting. What parts did you have to edit out? I can write an EMC compatible post processor if you want.

    sheetcam edit

using a mach2 output format, EMC didn't like the use of G90.1, I don't think it understands the .1 part,I just removed that line, an error cropped up in relation to G53, must use g0 or g1 with g53, just removed the referance to g53, after those changes, EMC ran fine, again this was a small file, but sheetcam, wine and linux appear to be able to work together.

Well the good news is that it appears that there may be a Linux native version of SheetCAM to be released in a few months.
