    Fanuc and GE Fanuc?

What is the difference between Fanuc and GE Fanuc?

I some times ring Fanuc to ask about software only to find they are not able to supply it because it's a GE Fanuc item.

GE have parted company with Fanuc this year, I am not sure what impact it will have on the different products?

mmmm. I wonder how that will affect me. Being a FANUC consumer

They must be rebadging all the CNC side of GEFANUC globaly to FANUC

I wonder what parts GEFANUC are letting go of.

    Fanuc

Fanuc Ltd. was the parent company which produced controls in Japan. Fanuc has joint venture with GE to produce controls. Fanuc has dissolved the partnership starting Jan 10 ,2010. Fanuc America will now be know as Fanuc CNC America and will handle controls sale, service in North America. New control sales for MTB and retrofitters will be handle by Fanuc CNC America 1-888-326-8287. There is still a lot of things being worked out such as back orders etc.

I'm not surprised about it, but I can see one down side. If Fanuc was out of stock on an item, used to call GE Fanuc and usually get it and visa versa. Our Local Fanuc office really didn't care if it was a GE fanuc control.

There seems to be a lot of this going on lately. Danahar Motion, SPX Corp. and a few others. Buy Cheap and Sell for more. Merge then Divide.

Corporate BS if you ask me.

I have always respected Fanuc Products, and their Control Software.
