Info Needed: Copley 306AP and Moog 152F427A drives

Does anyone have any information on the following servo drives?

    Copley 306AP

    and

    Moog 152F427A

I got them off ebay for what I hope is a good deal, but I can't find any data sheets, I need to know what type of feedback they use etc.

    Picking out a motor....

    Thanks!!!

What do you suppose the AP denotes?

the manual only specs a 306AB...

    hmmm

edit: nevermind... it means it has the "PINS" option mentioned in the manual

Hi I bought 4 of Colpey MODEL# 306AP and I'm now getting ready to run them. I've wired it up as per Page 9 in the manual and a 35 volt supply but nothing happens. I cannot get the the LED to come on. The board voltages +- 11, 5 and 14 are all good but no LED. All boards do the same. I'm sure they are OK and I'm doing something wrong but not sure what. I'm using a 200 watt brush motor for testing. Any suggestions ?

I have not used that particular model, but have you tried with all the enables open instead of jumpered?
    15,16,17,7.
Some drives have the option of reversing the enable logic, it would be a quick check.

The 306A with a MB4 option is the 306AP. As you are aware there is a jumper to reverse the logic, JP9 and reversing this makes it work. Most strange as the cards were tested prior to being sold and are supplied without the jumpers!

I'm going to be using these on EMC2 with the MESA 7I48 analog servo cards.

    Thanks Wallace

We have LinuxCNC and the drives up and running however, the Copley cards only need 0.3V to have full swing on the output. The input is supposed to be +- 10v. Consequently, the motors run very jumpy with LinuxsCNC. I've tried many jumper options but none give good results.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks Wallace

Are you using them in the torque mode with no tach feedback?
In this mode they are transconductance amplifiers where the output current is directly related to voltage input.
In this mode they need to be under control of the proper PID loop via the encoder.
Also the pot settings for the torque mode.
