    Miyano fanuc 10t threading problem

    i have a miyano fanuc 10t controller im trying to tap 1/2 -14 npt using a g32 tapping cycle when it starts tapping the chuck just about comes to a stop.turning 400 rpms .071 per rev depth 1.06 can someone help me with why the chuck wont stay at 400 all the way through. thanks.

    Post your program here so we can help you. I suspect you have G96 instead G97
    The best way to learn is trial error.

    Also, what HP does your machine have behind the spindle? I haven't run the numbers but I would say you will need atleast a 10HP spindle motor.

    Some smaller lathes don't have enough juice to do that size of NPT tap - especially after many years of use and increasing frictional power losses.
