    Adding a steady rest to T32-2 qt15N

So we are going to be turing some rather long bars and need to install a steady rest. How do they integrate into the Mazak we have? Hydraulic correct?
We have had good luck with our Fadals milling mostly soft steel and aluminum up to 5 axis. We are always looking for spare parts If you have a broken down Fadal give a shout.

I've seen this done by Mazak and can offer the following:

Mazak engineers 'kits' as defined by an "e-bill". A steady rest retrofit will include a purchased steady - typically LNS or SMW, but also others, a heavy mounting fabrication that usually fixes to the tailstock rails, additional M codes and all the hardware/software, hydraulic hook ups, m code controlled valves for the hydraulics and many many other incidentals.

If your machine is a popular version, Mazak probably has already got this problem bundled up.

The steady rest vendors may also be able to provide some form of kit for you.

Mazak offers a lot of variants for steadys - manual, single roller programmable, and dual roller (turn through) programmable.

This is a substantial under taking for a do it yourselfer. Even a Mazak kit needs a good TECH to put it all together properly!

    Good Luck!
