    Fadal ballscrew

I have a 1990 Fadal 4020 with inch ballscrews is it possible to change just one
ballscrew to metric and leave the others inch?
And what other adjustments would have to be made?

I woulnt think so as anything to do with moving the x and any other axis at the same time would be off.

I may be wrong, but it just doesnt sound like it would work.
Why would you want to do that anyhow?

I think it will work fine if you can change the pitch in the parameters.

I'm pretty sure the bearings and seals are different sizes. I ordered bearings and seal for my machine(cooled/metric) and they needed to know if my screws were metric or inch. I think all the metric screws are cooled and all the inch screws aren't.

Do not interchange different types of ballscrews. The machine uses one parameter to tell the control if it has inch or metric ball screws. You can not split the control into different pitch measurements.

Thank you for your replies. Neal hit the nail on the head. I was just asking because I was offered a metric ballscrew at a very good price. Thanks again, Don
