A way around the 9999 program line limitation?

I have an older Fanuc 6m Controller. The Memory has been upgraded so I can fill it with data. However the programs are limited to 9999. I've thought about doing the subprogram thing, but then would this be done by a post processor that will do it automatically? Or another way around this issue?
    Thanks for any info!

You aren't limited to 9999 blocks. You're limited to 9999 block numbers.

See if you can turn off block numbering in your post-processor.

Exactly - Only use Nxxxx on safe start lines for each tool.

I use N-numbers only if these are absolutely necessary.

I believe, duplication of block numbers is permitted, if the such numbers are not being referenced in the program. So, after 9999, you can again start with 0001.
