    Skull and Bones Lithophane

Here's project that came out pretty cool. Files are scaled to cut
in .750 (19mm) Acrylic. Took about 45min with 1/4 ball mill. Looked
kind of like a X-ray once we got it lit up. On the eye sockets
there's some relief carry over. If you touch off Z then +.04 and set
Z-zero there, it won't transfer to the Acrylic.

It was done on a Shop Sabre. (1/4 Ball end mill: 15,000rpm/ 125 ipm/ 8% step over) Made 3 of them. Spent 2 hrs sanding and flame finishing the first one. Ended up looking better right off the machine.(chair) The texture left by the tooling grabbed the light so much better. One of those "I worked hard to screw that up" situations. :wee:

Hello. I am new to CNC so bear with me. I have access to a SHOPBOT Alpha and I want to cut a gear with a skull and cross-bones on the face of the gear. I like the skull and cross-bones in this thread, how do i add the skull and cross bones onto a gear face? I'm using Autodesk Fusion.
Thoughts? Ideas? Any help for a newb is much appreciated.

I gave it a shot on regular acrylic sheet 1"x1" about 0.050" deep. I don't have anything that can work with STL files, so I used the new fumbled 3D Builder in Windows 10 to print a PDF, then used a program to interpret gray scale color to depth. Not so good.
