    Digitizing with PCNCautomation routers

I have a digitizing probe from Maxnc. I had limited success with it when using the Maxnc software. Now that I have Mach with the Digitizing wizard and the jack for tool setting, I wonder if I can plug in the digitizer and it will work with the new cnc and software? The digitizer has a plug which will need to be cut off and a new mini type one put on. Any ideas? Thanks.

I talked to Bill Jounson about that and he said it should work well with the Mach3 Wizard.

What does that scanner look like and how does it mount - just chuck it in the DeWalt?

Please let us know how you make out.

Yes, it is a 1/4" shank and plugs in place of a bit. The probe is spring loaded. Well so far it will work when I pull down on the probe as opposed to pushing it up. Something must need to be flipped on or off somewhere in the parameters. There are plans for making a probe on the net that I saw today in my search. Search for digitizing probe and add mach to the search if you can't find it. I don't know much about mach yet to make any changes to anything.

This one has some extra features:

Thanks. When you see how relatively simple things they are, you can appreciate the lower price. You could probably build one with a simple homemade mill.

When was it you talked to Bill Johnson? Do you mind sharing his current contact information?

    Thanks.

Sorry, it was early December before he went into stealth mode
