    Spindle motor overload

We have an 85 4020. Tried to turn on the spindle today and got a "spindle motor overload" alarm. It has an upgraded drive (Baldor) which has been running flawlessly for years. The only thing I can find is fuse 9 keeps blowing. The panel says its for the spindle cooler & motor fan. I think it is keeping the drive from powering up because there is no display on the LED spindle drive display. 3 phase power thru the fuses before the drive is good.

Do you think the problem is in the fan motor? This machine has been so reliable I am puzzeled where to begin or what are common factors.

If the Baldor is an old one (lite brown) there a couple of fuses inside; and also look for
small round red resistor they tend to break loose because of heat.
Check the K relays in the back cabinet, the controller card connection, Spindle orient
    hall effect switch.

Thanks for the tips, I will check em out tomorrow. My f9 fuse is unrelated. I think the Baldor drive is gray. I think there may be some fuses under the top boards. After hitting a M03 there is a bit of a delay and sounds like it is winding up before it delivers the fault. I think it is the drive. It has been very good, much better than the original, I think sweeo. I blew a few of those toshiba transistor packs.

    Thanks again.
