Good day, I've start working with a different division of the same company and they use to use Gibbs but have just switched to using Mastercam X4. Is there a translator so I can use the Gibbs files in Mastercam ? Thanks.

CAD yes, but CAM is no, so you have to regenerate toolpath.
The best way to learn is trial error.
OK but how to you translate or import the Gibbs into Mastercam. I don't see a file ext that matchs the Gibbs vnc ext.
you save it as a Ige or DXF maters if it is 2D or 3D. sense you don't use Solids in gibbs you don't nned to output a Step file or Parasolid file.

In Gibbs go to File - Save As and see what formats it supports.
Then go to Mastercam File - Save As and compare.
Like Jay said... I'm sure IGES will work.
