    communications help

hello we have an OKUMA Captain L370M lathe and i was wondering if anyone has tried the floppy emulator shown on this forum to replace the existing floppy drive. it would be nice to get rid of the floppy.
also we have been able to send a program from the machine to the pc using the rs232 but are not able to send to the machine from the pc using the
rs232. we have PREDITOR and gibbs and i was wondering if anyone has experience using a laptop to send a program to and from the osp-e100L with a rs232 cable 9 pin from laptop to 25 pin rs232 on machine.

I suggest to leave floppy. It's useful sometimes. Okuma provides software for Okuma 3½" floppy format conversion to PC.
RS232 works on all Okumas great. There are some parameter settings.
Follow error messages. Pay attention, parameters setting for receiving port is different from that one for transfer.
