I have a small cnc mill and wondering if it is possible to surface grind small (1.5" wide, 0.125" thick and 8" long) stainless stock? Please advise.

I am curious about this as well. Would it be feasible to mount an arbor in the vertical spindle to accept a grinding stone, and then set up a magnetic table that is perpendicular to the bed?
DP: Is your stainless steel magnetic?
Grinding on a vertical mill can be done with a flaring cup wheel (typically used for tool/cutter grinders), kind of like a mini Blanchard. As long as the wheel is dressed with a diamond, the results can be decent on small workpieces.
Be careful with the grinding dust and swarf created... you definitely don't want it circulating in your coolant. The hassle of preparation and cleanup is enough to deter many people from trying it. Also, unless the workpiece is hardened, similar/better results can be achieved with a quality facemill.
