Unhappy Fanuc 18M on DAHLIH VMC-720 Manual/parameters needed

    Hello!

If anyone would be so kind to send me a parameter manual in English for Fanuc 18M or/and some basic parameter explanation/list, also would appreciate some tips for setting this machine again all memory is deleted (parameters, etc)

so far i managed quickly to get alarms off but Z axis is inverted and has reverted work range so i can move it only few cm lol, also i dont have mem, mdi modes etc..

    Thanks in advance

    My email: [email protected]

I will dig up the manual to send you but you need more than that. Your option parameters need to be entered. You don’t have a copy of any of them? Your best place to start is to call Fanuc and or Dahlih and give them the serial number of the machine. They should have a backup of some sort for your machine to get you going.

    Diagnostics and options

Since that is an old machine it won't help to contact DahLih because there file backups went missing along with their computers. If you PM me I can send you a PMC/diagnostic file from 1991 that may help.

Any alarms when it stops? I would not think it is referenced if it never made it to the switches.

no alarms, sometimes after i move it with handle then it starts to show overtravel but when freshly started it just stops before without slowing down

That's odd. Does the refernence lights show that it is referenced? It could be something with being so close to the softlimit settings. Is that the alarm you get when you use the handle is "softlimit overtravel"?

It sounds like your softlimit settings are causing you problems. Although usually if you powered up in the overtravel area it would display the alarm right away. These are parameters 1320 and 1321. Write down what they are then adjust them to 999999 and -999999. If the axis still does not move set them back to normal.

I already tried to play with those 2 parameters but that just allows how far you can travel without alarm, but it stops before that when using referent zero return without over travel alert, i think i got idea now but will have to try it tomorrow

    Thanks for trying

Does the machine move in JOG mode? How far?

No your machine will not recalculate your 0 when using G28. G28 is just a code to take you to your reference position.

Yes it moves in jog normally where ever you want unless you bump over travel.
I know G28 isnt a zero ref return, but just to move to last zero ref set.

but i still did t manage to fix my problem, its a bit weird... its not that big problem but its a bit annoying that i have to do ref zero return after using handle/jog/rapid manually if i want program to travel to right position, since all other machines work normal and im used to not having to care about that

    any tips welcome...
btw i still didt try to change one keeprelay setting that might help
