Hi Everyone, I am a bit new to this - so I hope you can help?

Got the following error messages on my Arrow 750 machine:

1) C axis reconfiguration failed

2) C axis enable signal set on but C axis ready signal not been received.

I know the problem is to do with the spindle and I guess some sensor or wiring has broken.

Any ideas where I should start looking.

My geuss is that this is an error you get when trying to switch from 2 axis turning mode to 3 axis milling mode? If so...there should be a clamp that engages the spindle to act as a "brake" and control indexing and such. I would start there, there will probably be a sensor that tells the control which mode you should be in and if it is or isnt in that mode.

What control is on the arrow. I had problem one time when the machine was trying to tool change the spindle was juddering and could not align the drive dogs so that it would accept the tool and it came up with the same error. This was on a heidenhain control and I ended up having to change the Kollmorgen spindle drive unit. I hope this helps but I hope its not that as they are not cheap.

I believe the Arrow I was running years ago had an Acramatic control...nice little control as I remember...had some good conversational features.

i had this happen a couple of weeks ago
is your mill equiped with the high torque spindle and a A2100 control?

this is what i did with mine

i took the cover of the Z axis (motor/spindle) assembly and had a look down from the top at the belt drive gear on the spindle, there is a prox switch that points down at the gear. the prox switch was not sensing the raised part of the gear. SO... before i changed it i followed the wires back to the COLTOR BOARD (large green circut board inside on the right of the electrical cabinet).
thinking it way be just a dirty connection, i disconnected the plug (R29 on my machine), blew it out and reconnected it. rebooted the mill and aligned it.
haven't had a problem since.
if that's not it, you may be able to get away with changing just the switch
Hopefully it's not a broken wire to the switch - looks like a real dog to change!

When the original post referenced the spindle and "C" axis...I was assuming this was a 3 axis lathe. I can not remember if the Arrow model was a lathe or mill. If it is a mill, then the C axis would probably be referencing an indexer. In which case my geuss would be a bad wire / prox. Sorry for nay confusion I may have casued in the post!
