Ummm, why would you want to do that?
Cimco is for transferring files to and from machine controllers.
And yes, it works as an ASCII terminal.

    why?

cimco is mainly and also an editor that allow us to display for example a tool list as a .txt file that would be under the same data base directory as a costumer or type of part number etc etc...
that all depends on how you want to organize existing programs in the data base.

I did that several times along time ago adding pictures to under the certain program on the [respective program number directory] but theres a tricky that for some reason don't remember.

    Im talking about set-up pictures....

Ok, I guess I did not quite understand what you are trying to accomplish.
However, you can not actually view a picture file in Cimco as a picture.
    That is not its purpose.
You can, of course, store your setup picture files in the same directory.
    That is a good idea.
For viewing your picture files, may I suggest Irfanview at...

What are you trying to do? are you try to upload picture as CAD model so that you can machine/you just want to attach picture for setup purpose? If you are looking for to upload picture as CAD first you need to convert to DXF or something similar that compatible then you can create toolpath from that model.
The best way to learn is trial error.

yes you right... I do that as-well, good for complicated set-ups... this way when they ask me where is the fixture or how to set this part up, I just print the picture and... here you go...

you have to associate files and pick the .JPG....
to delete it, you can't because it will delete the main file, you have to unssociate.. here you go...

you were the first guy asking that same question here that I asked myself 3 years ago.....came back to the forum....
