It depends on the age of the machine.
Older machines with the CRT monitor recognise G54 to G59 and G110 to 129, newer machines have many more available b ut I don't know the actual number.
In practise, however, if you use a G10 command you can relocate any work zero on the fly in a program so you can have an unlimited. Also you can set a single main work zero and then use G52 to create as many secondary work zeros as you like.

can you post that link to the g10 command that has examples ( I know you posted one a while back just cant find it and I am lazy
I have 3 vices and didnt want to write one program to fit all so I used
g55 g56 g57 etc etc for each part ( 5 parts at a time)
it was an easy edit ( program I had before was for one at a time 10 parts total, now I have 200 parts total so I did 5 at a time) for the program kinda it had 7 tools but I am thinking the g10 would have worked better/easier to program. or at least a sub but I suck at writing subs with out a working example.
