    Power Supply - Question

    Does anyone know who makes a power supply for the following stepper motor?



    Holding torque-Nm (oz/in) +/- 10% 8.7 (1208)
    Rated voltage 2.7
    Rated current per phase (amps DC) 6.0
    Resistance (Ohms) +/- 10% 0.45
    Induction (mH) +/- 20% typical 5.1

    Just about any power supply will work. It really depends on how many motors your using, and what drives your driving them with.

    Gecko drives. Problem is finding a power supply rated for the 6 amp motors.

    Go with a rewound microwave transformer or a torroid. Microwave transformers are very inexpesive but torroids will cost you a little more but they can be customized also.
    If it's not nailed down, it's mine.
    If I can pry it loose, it's not nailed down.

    I'm looking for a power supply that's off the shelf. Not home made.

    With 3 motors rated at 6A each, you only need at most a 12A supply. How many wires do the motors have, and how are you wiring them? 8 wire motors wired bipolar series would possibly only need a 6A supply. Check out the Gecko White Papers at their website, it explains a little bit about what size power supply you need.

    I'm using 4 motors. Two wired parallel, to drive X axis gantry. They are bipolar 4-wire.
