Small size or wrong size being cut.

Just bought and set up a new to me techno lc4896 with a tool changer and vacuum hold down. I am waiting on the PO to transfer the Vcarve software over to me so I can design using that. In the meantime I wanted to test out the machine and was using the simple Carbide 3d Pro to generate gcode to run it. It worked great to flatten the mdf table. I need to hog out some blanks to put on a lathe before turning the details and thought this would work as a good test. Did my design in Carbide the saved the gcode brought it over to the CNC and set up the job. It is a series of circles and the machine is cutting a microscopic version of the job. I tweaked the design 4 or 5 times with same result. Any thoughts on how to correct this? Thanks

Is it possible your system is set to mm and you're programming in inches?
What are your scale factors in setup, system?

Like Eric says, this happens when you run a program written in inches when the machine is running millimeters. Try inserting a G20 into the initial code string, and see if that helps.

The Techno controller doesn't use g20, you just need to set the scale properly in setup, system.
I can help with specific numbers if you tell me what your current ones are.
We provide complete support for the original USA made Techno CNC machines from 2013 and older.

I was able to redraw what I needed in fusion and get the machine to cut. With some effort. I was about maxed out in z axis but got it to work.
I confirmed the mm to inches and tried it but no luck.
I would like to get the simple Carbide program to work with this machine. Especially since my apprentice likes and is comfortable designing in Carbide.

Alright so I checked the scale factor in the techno software and it is set to -800 on all M boxes. On the leg of the machine it says it should be -20320. Problem is when I put that in the machine will not move. Thoughts?

Thank you to everyone who has replied.

Re: Small size or wrong size being cut.

800 would be for metric, 20320 for inches indeed. It should move fine when you change the numbers, what is happening when you do? Are you getting an error when you try to move? Or it just sits there?

Did you just change the scale factors alone, or did you use the switch to inches button in setup, system?

Because if you only changed the scales, then the issue is likely you're moving too fast, as your jog speeds wouldn't have been reduced appropriately for inches from metric.

Alright so after sifting through the the menus on both the Techno and the software program I fixed the issue. The scale factors were correct but in the post processor menu in the design software has a separate scale menu that needs to adjusted depending on what scale you are using. Now that everything is working in the metric scale the machine works as it should.

Thank you for all the help!!
