So I've run into another little hiccup with my router. I've set up soft limits in the configuration, however they aren't being triggered when I manually jog past them. I've homed all the axis, and I'm using machine co ordinates to define the limits. I'd really like to figure this out for an extra layer of safety, and also it sucks to have to manually reset an axis when a hard limit is triggered.

In the screenshot I had set the soft limit at -200 for Z, yet I was able to jog past that without setting off a soft limit. Considering there is no hard limit at the negative end of my Z travel I need something to stop it other than me visually making sure it doesn't travel too far.

Did you check the "Enable Softlimits" checkbox on the General Settings page?

I reinstalled UCCNC and softlimits work now. I'm running this on an old laptop with Vista right now, do you think it could just be a glitch caused by the OS?

I found another glitch, for some reason if I switch jog mode from continous to step mode it triggers the softlimits as soon as I jog in any direction. Any ideas?

What version of UCCNC are you using? Make sure you have the latest version, 1.2029

I wouldn't think that Vista could cause any problems, but it's not listed as a supported OS.

What are your soflimit min and max settings, and what step increment are you using? And what are the machine coordinates when you try to jog and get the error?

I read a thread on the Stepcraft forum from someone who was using Vista, and couldn't even get UCCNC to run. So maybe it is a Vista issue? You might want to ask CNC Drive if it'll work correctly with Vista?
