Stainless steel sand casting, also known as sand casting, is a process that uses non-reusable sand molds to form stainless steel products.
Stainless steel sand casting is cheaper than stainless steel precision casting. This casting method is used to make large stainless steel parts. Stainless steel sand castings have low productivity because the sand mold must be broken to remove the part called the casting. The stainless steel sand casting process involves the use of furnaces, raw materials, patterns and sand molds. The stainless steel material is melted in the furnace, and then poured into the cavity of the sand mold with a spoon, and the sand mold is shaped by the pattern. The sand mold is separated along the parting line, and the solidified casting can be taken out.
