bought small 4th axis
worked once ,
turn on its own while carving program not called to do , turn at different times and turn back on the same line !
thought to small of a stepper motor.
bought larger
motor will not turn
plug in new stepper motor ... did not turn.
returned driver 2 times .
unplug and plug in to driver for " Z " used the settings that set up for Z ...it turned !
New motor is just setting there NOT connected to anything .
The driver is for a simply stepper motor , all connections are check many times , math is right .
it is 1.8 degrees so 200*16*1/360 = 8.88888 . The Z is set at 8165 plus ! On the steps per unit .
The motor should turn .
It is warming up a little. Current is set right 2.8 for a 3 amp stepper . Dip switch is set for full (90%)
The read out is showing it is turning .
Using UCCNC software
DM542T driver
UC400ET to my computer
4 axis braker board.
signal is getting to lap top , the read out is moving when axis is clicked .

Why is it NOT turning ?

It could be a bad cable.
