Hi guys! Just finished my 5th and 4th axis rotary table and I'm having some issues with the motors.

Is this normal for a stepper motor?

The shaft movement doesn't change when changing the micro stepping of the driver.

If you set the drive to full steps, does it still do it?

Yes, it still does that even on full steps. Only thing that changed was the holding torque, but I could still move it as much as in the video.

It shouldn't move, unless the force being applied exceeds the holding torque. Do you have a different motor you can try?

Does the drive have current reduction?

Both of my rotary axis do this. But if the force exceeds the holding torque it should skip between steps, wouldn't it?

The drive is a TB6600 currently set to 3.5A

One thing I have noticed after an hour or so of operation the motors get only a little warm, just a little bit than room temperature. (running from 36V)

there should be no movement when the current is applied to the stepper motor since powerful magnets are holding the shaft. If there is no current applied then movement is possible. Sometimes when the current is applied there is a loud 'clunk' sound becasue the magnets are aligning within the motor.
