Synrad J48 series 48-1 - How to activate without controller

    We have bought a Synrad CO2 laser 48-1, 30 watt, manufactured 2008.
The previous owner had a UC-2000 controller to the laser.

We want to use the laser without the UC-2000 controller, and have mounted jumpers to the DB9 port according to user manual.
We have measured that the electricity is all fine through PSU and into the laser, but the laser will still not activate.

As we read in the user manual, we have to make a ticle signal to the laser, but the information about this tickle signal is some limited for us to understand.

So now is the question about we have to make this tickle signal each time to activate the laser, and if so, how and where do we make this tickle signal?
Do we need a tool/device to apply this tickle signal, and if so, where do we connect it?

Hope you can assist us with this issue. Thanks in advance!

yes needs tickle 5khz 1us pulse width.with 5khz pwm signal you can modulate the output power that fires. This tube is 10w not 30w

Thank you very much for answer! However, the tube shall be rated for maximum 30 watt. Don't I reach this effect with normal tickle signal? If not, what do I have to do for reaching this maximum effect?
I forgot to mention that the full name on the laser is J48-1SAL. Maybe it has some importance

    It's 10w.
Don't read what the sticker writes about 30w watt maximum it is only 10watt.
Mine synrad 48-2 writes 75w maximum but it is 25w.
If you don't give 5khz 1us tickle you will damage the tube. tickle is mandatory.
You can drive the tube with 5khz pwm with 0-199us pulse width (the remaining 1us is the tickle).
You can make a custom circuit or to buy a controller like ruida rdc6442g for 250 euros to drive it.
When you power it without any driving signal the green led light up?
From portugal you got this tube used for about 900usd combined with other laser items?
    Is this your tube ?

Yes, that is the laser. We solved the tickle signal from the PSU, so it works, but if it is only 10 watt and not 30 watt, it is not good. Do you mean green light on the PSU or laser?
Only the laser and PSU for this price.
So you mean we've been fooled?

I mean green light led in the laser.
Only psu and laser for 10w yes you got it expensive. same seller gave me this and a lot of other things for 1000 but i got a whole machine with 25w working synrad for 1000.
it was wrongly advertised as 30w this model is 10w.

Produces beam or it is dead?

Are you sure it is same seller? I asked him about it now, but he fully denies, he has never sold a laser before. Do you have a link to the announce?

Can't find green light on the laser, but it produces beam yes, so it works all fine, but only 10 watt I presume.
