    TNG2 and virtual keyboards

is there a mechanism to get TNG2 to accept keyboard commands from virtual keyboards like autohotkey or macrodeck/streamdecks?

the software does not seem to register them, though many other apps do so with ease.

hopefully this is an issue with my settings?

This was a permissions issue: TNG was running in with admin permissions and the virtual KB was not. once all aligned in the same userspace this went very well.

macrodeck 2 works very well with TNG now.

I was just about to test this.
May I ask, why do you use this?

    Re: TNG2 and virtual keyboards

my main reason for having a CNC machine is to build parts for a flight simulator.

sat right next to it is a quite precise joystick with multiple analogue axes and lots of buttons, and a touchscreen and i use this for jogging. due to computer changes some time ago i ran out of time (i am not good at scripting and have troubles with anything much more complicated than gui dialogues) to configure TNG again to use the direct USB input, so i have a virtual KB layer that generates keystrokes. i updated to win 11 and it all broke. under win 10 it appears not to have worried about which userspace the virtual KB was running.

The other thing oi forgot to add about the macrodeck is that with an IP webcam in the enclosure and a webcam for offsets this gives me the ability run jobs on the machine totally remotely.

given the functionality of the 3/4 control board, the offest webcam and probing etc i can run a job from my kitchen or office and monitor the process throughout.

essentially my tablet becomes a pendant with infinite wifi range.

    Edit: the workflow is:

set up commonly used stock at different WCS (or a sheet of stock)

find small amount of time for projects.

check zero/limits with the TNG software webcam.

    check CAD file

do remote turn on of air/mist

    go.

    pick up part later.

all in all i can pretty much replicate the controls of a Reprap duet or bambu 3d printer, but with a 3 axis cnc.

i have a hard cutoff remote eSTOP that kills the whole workshop.
