I currently have a Toshiba with tosnuc 777 control. Having the Nc 4-14 alarm.
Batteries went dead on X,Z,W axis.

Battery on all axis encoders have been changed. But still cannot set home position on the W axis.

When trying to set home on W, it always gives a NC1_017 alarm (cannot set absolute encoder).
Along with the NC4-14.

The NC1-017 alarm wants to see the axis move so it can sync the control to the encoder. But it does not matter how much I move it. It still will not set.

The NC1-017 alarm wants to see the axis move so it can sync the control to the encoder. But it does not matter how much I move it. It still will not set.

The NC1-017 alarm indicates that the control is unable to find or sync to the absolute encoder for the W axis.
Sometimes this can be a result of not moving the axis far enough or in the wrong direction to initialize the encoder position.
