    Unrecognized device after windows update

I wonder if anyone can help, I was using my mill and windows 10 forced an update on me. Once it restarted I could no longer see the plannetCNC controller, device manager shows the device as unrecognized.
I've done a ton of research and tried all the fixes I could find, reinstalling the driver, turning off power saving on all USB devices, switching USB ports, rolling back my USB root host and nothing I do will get it working again. I even tried connecting the board to a another machine (my laptop) which is running windows 11 and that has the same issue.

Any help would be much appreciated.
I'm actually in the middle of a setup

I think I tried that too, I installed the latest PlanetCNC software and then tried to update the device using the driver that was installed in the PlanetCNC install folder and that failed.

You need to install driver. Latest driver s available for download here:
    https://cnc.zone/tng/tng

FYI just yesterday I installed this driver to latest, full updated windows, without any issues.

Thank you for you help, after downloading the driver exe and running that, it all now works.

So what I had previously done was to install the latest planetCNC software and then update the usb device driver by going to device manager and selecting update driver, then pointing at this directory: C:\Program Files\PlanetCNC\Driver\Driver. This failed to install.

But when I downloaded your latest driver from your link which downloaded an exe, then ran that it all worked.

    Lesson learned

Just for info - driver installed to C:\Program Files\PlanetCNC\Driver\Driver folder is same one.

That sounds really frustrating! I had a similar problem after a Windows update where a crucial device suddenly wasn’t recognized. I tried all sorts of fixes, like reinstalling drivers and checking USB settings, but nothing worked.

Eventually, I found that doing a clean reinstall of Windows helped resolve the issue. If you’re open to it, you might want to look into this guide for a factory reset that could potentially fix the problem: https://operatingsystems.info/how-to...pc-windows-11/ . It’s a bit of a hassle, but it worked for me in a similar situation.
