Hi All
I have a VM32 (bought from CNC4YOU) That I have fitted with a 3.6KW servo motor for the spindle drive. I have geared it 2:1 and this gives me a max spindle speed of 5KRPM. I am concerned about the standard bearings being upto this, bearing in mind the standard max speed was 2400RPM. I also designed and 3D printed a bush to help take out any movement in the quill/drive interface and that has made a massive difference to smoothness and noiuse,
So was interested in what people thought about running the standard bearings or do I need to upgrade. (I will upgrade anyway but I want to cut some parts in the mean time)
Cheers
Bazzer
Edited to add annoyingly I can't seem to rotate that picture now I have posted it :-)
Edited again to add I can now see I have posted this in the wrong forum and should probably be in DIY CNC, but can't find a way of moving it or deleting it.
