I have my grandfather's 06 rifle, which is a twin of the 1906. I have never disassembled it as it keeps shooting. From a casual look at the parts that show on the open action, you are in for a big project. Getting everything to "fit like a finger in your nose" will take a lot of measuring, drawing, machining, and filing things to fit. I am speaking from a lifetime of building plastic molds, stamping dies, and doing the weird requests that a local gunsmith was not up to doing. As a starting point, can you find a "junker" that can be measured to start? Go for it Smithy
