WINCNC Auto THC Theory of Operation Help

All around new to WINCNC, this Forum, and Hypertherm 85 Sync Plasma Torch.
Issue: I purchased this machine used and trying to get it all dialed in for our use. The previous owner had three phase power and a Hypertherm Max200 torch. After getting the new torch head installed, there are some extra parts it seems and I can't get the Touch Off to work.

The purchased setup had +24Volt lead terminated with a ring terminal fastened to the X Motor plate. The ohmatic lead is a spade terminal to the Max200 torch, but with an extension hanress that was looped several times around a large metal donut (1.5" diameter and 0.5" thick). Only one wire was looped around this - White w/Blue stripe that terminated back in the control cabinet at a TOUCH DIN rail terminal block. the only other wire from the terminal block goes to the High voltage Reed relay, which then returns to an input on the THC board. The relay is energized from the THC board relay output location.

I'm confused why the +24V lead is connected to the motor plate, or maybe just in general how THC works in WinCNC. I've got the previous WINCNC.ini file from the owner and all other functions so far work, but I'm not sure what the looped wire around the ring donut is for (Because the laser power is the same way with the dual-circuit cable). is the WINCNC input looking for a +24Volt feedback?

Thanks for any help on this. Adam

it seems like it’s just there to reduce electrical noise from the signal line (pretty common with ohmic sensor lines and torch trigger signals).
That looped wire is the sense wire back to the control — specifically, the one going to the TOUCH DIN rail terminal.
