DMP Flex 350, was showcased on GF Machining Solutions’ EMO Hannover 2019 stand

Efficient production of very dense, pure metals is the hallmark of GF Machining Solutions’ and 3D Systems’ new DMP Flex 350 metal 3D printing machine. Visitors to GF Machining Solutions’ EMO Hannover 2019 stand experienced firsthand how the DMP Flex 350’s improved print productivity can drive time to market with reduced cost of operation. At EMO Hannover 2019, the DMP Flex 350 showed off a new design, aligning it more closely with other products in the GF Division’s broad portfolio of technologies.

A robust, flexible metal 3D printing solution for 24/7 production of parts up to 275 x 275 x 380 mm in size and from the most challenging alloys, the DMP Flex 350 is the successor to 3D Systems’ (NYSE: DDD) ProX® DMP 320 metal 3D printer. Ideal for application development, production, and research and development, this machine establishes the preconditions for quality and productivity with its integrated 3DXpert® software, thoroughly qualified LaserForm® materials and expert application support.

In addition, the DMP Flex 350’s improved print productivity—up to 40% faster per layer than its predecessor—enables faster time to market with lower total cost of operation. And, due to its improved gas flow technology, this solution lays the foundation for improved uniform part quality across the entire build area.

At EMO Hannover 2019, the DMP Flex 350 sported a new look conceived by a renowned design firm. The machine has a dedicated design that distinguishes it as a product developed with a technology partner: While new and existing GF Machining Solutions products feature horizontal orange stripes encircling the gray and white machine bodies, new products developed with partners boast vertical, orange unifying stripes along with GF’s and the partner's―in this case 3D Systems'―logo. This design aligns the solution with the other products in GF Machining Solutions' technology portfolio, making it easily recognizable for customers.

Highly repeatable quality

With the DMP Flex 350, manufacturers achieve the high repeatability essential to producing consistently high-quality parts. That is because the machine delivers the purest atmosphere during printing: a consistently low oxygen environment (fewer than 25 parts per million). This solution ensures excellent microstructures and very high density. Its repeatable, stable mechanical properties allow users to work with confidence that they will achieve consistent accuracy from one job to another. High quality is further guaranteed by the machine’s thoroughly developed and tested print settings.

High throughput

Dependably high throughput is essential to manufacturers’ continued productivity, and the DMP Flex 350 has that covered, too. High throughput 3D metal printing is ensured by the solution’s fast, bidirectional material deposition. At the same time, users’ productivity is accelerated by high printer utilization and short changeover time. Productivity is further maximized by its optimized scanning strategies.
