First GROB in-house exhibition comes to a successful close

From April 9 to 12, 2019, GROB-WERKE opened the doors to its first in-house exhibition at the headquarters in Mindelheim. Some four hundred invited customers and guests were inspired by innovative product and live demonstrations, various technical presentations and interesting tours of the premises.

Each day of the in-house exhibition focused on one particular sector and was divided into theoretical and practical parts. A Keynote Speaker each morning was followed by technical presentations created specifically for the day concerned and the alternating Die & Mold, Aerospace, Automotive and Mechanical Engineering / Contract Manufacture sectors. In the afternoons, the visitors were able to admire various live machining operations on the machines, get better acquainted with the plant during the guided tour and use the time for information sharing and network.

On the first event day – true to the motto Die & Mold – Keynote Speaker Jens Lüdtke, Chairman and Co-founder of Marktspiegel Werkzeugbau, impressed visitors with his presentation on "New territory: Die and mold industries – today and tomorrow". On both of the following two days, Dr. Christian Fiebig, Partner at Porsche Consulting in the industrial products / plant and machinery construction sector, gave his presentation on "Digital Machinery Decoded – how the mechanical engineering sector is approaching the transformation".

Each day, GROB itself presented its product solutions for the sector concerned and complemented this expertise with speakers from tebis and Open Mind. Together with other event partners, including Gühring, Aura, Renishaw, Ingersoll, Kennametal and Blum, these two companies also enhanced the program with their own information desks and product presentations.

One special attraction of the first in-house exhibition was the world premiere of the new GROB access-series, which was debuted to the visitors on the event day for the mechanical engineering/contract manufacture sector in a detailed presentation. GROB presented its G350a and G550a 5-axis machining centers, two flexible all-rounders from the universal machining sector that are designed today to meet the part requirements of tomorrow. Thanks to their short payback period, these machine models offer a cost-conscious entry into the innovative GROB technology and guarantee maximum efficiency and flexibility with modularly expandable and fully customizable automation solutions.

"Our first in-house exhibition this year was a resounding success", said Peter Hermanns, Head of Universal Machining Center Sales at GROB, summing up after the event. "Our sector-related technical presentations were received especially well by our visitors. They were able to spend their time wisely by choosing which day to attend, based on their specific interests."
