The skew rolling mill is used to produce preforms for weldless tubes. Starting from round material, a reverse extrusion operation is first carried out with a hydraulic press. The preformed billet is then threaded horizontally onto the mandrel of the skew rolling mill. In the subsequent forming process, the wall thickness of the tube billet is gradually reduced using several active rollers.
