 90 years of Mitsubishi Electric Mitsubishi Electric celebrates two milestones in 2011: 90th anniversary, and 150 years of the German-Japanese friendship treaty Ratingen, in Februar 2011 - On 1st February 2011, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (headquartered in Tokyo) celebrates 90 years since the company was established. "Looking ahead to our 100th anniversary, Mitsubishi Electric will maintain its strong belief that continuous change is the wellspring of new value," said Kenichiro Yamanishi, President and CEO of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. "Mitsubishi Electric will combine new ideas with the wisdom forged by 90 years of experience to position itself as a globally leading green company, enriching society with technology." "Embracing the spirit of our corporate statement, Changes for the Better, and our environmental statement, Eco Changes, we must change from within and be able to adapt to make things better," he added. "With these concepts in mind each Mitsubishi Electric business will contribute productively to its industry, and to society as a whole." To commemorate its 90th anniversary, Mitsubishi Electric has formulated a logo which embodies the company's aims to become a globally leading green company, enriching society with technology. The logo will be used globally throughout the Mitsubishi Electric Group's operations. 90 years of Mitsubishi Electric Mitsubishi Electric was established in 1921 as a spin-off of the Mitsubishi Shipbuilding Company's electric factory. In a constantly changing world, the Mitsubishi Electric Group has kept its focus on contributing to society through technology. The group's corporate mission, which was revised on its 80th anniversary in 2001, underscores this spirit of contribution: 'the Mitsubishi Electric Group will continually improve its technologies and services by applying creativity to all aspects of its business'. Providing a wide range of high-quality products and services for homes, offices, factories, social infrastructure and even space systems, Mitsubishi Electric strives to enhance quality of life throughout society. About Mitsubishi Electric's 90th anniversary logo The figure "90" is combined with an image that represents both a "leaf" symbolizing the environment, and a "wing" which characterizes the company's leap towards the next ten years. The color green expresses the company's continuing commitment to the environment and quality of life. Mitsubishi Electric's German branch, which is located in Ratingen near Düsseldorf, will also join in the festivities. "For 90 years Mitsubishi Electric has made an important contribution to our society with highquality and energy-efficient technologies and products. In Germany we will also focus on the environment in our future direction", explains Koji Miyashita, President of the German Branch. "Our 90th anniversary as well as 150 years of the German-Japanese friendship treaty are two important vents we will celebrate this year". On 24th January 2011 each country celebrated 150 years of the German-Japanese friendship treaty. To commemorate the jubilee both countries have a series of events planned entitled "150 Years of Friendship – Germany and Japan". In Germany, Mitsubishi Electric will participate in an exhibition held in the Kunst Palast Museum in Düsseldorf (26.03 – 26.06.2011), and by becoming a sponsoring partner of the exhibit "150 years as commercial partners" in the NRW Forum in Düsseldorf (21. – 28.05.2011). |
