Concept of the vertical turning centers DS, DZS and the vertical 4-axis shaft turning center DWS from RASOMA: Turning center DZS: RASOMA Werkzeugmaschinen GmbH presents an optimized the DZS 250/S turning center is a further development of the DZS series, which enables the machining of chuck components up to a maximum swing diameter of 440 mm. At the EMO 2019 tradeshow, we will be exhibiting the single-spindle version with an optional grinding and dressing unit for external and internal cylindrical grinding. With this machine concept, the following customer requirements are met using the turning / grinding process combination: - Reduction of process steps - Reduction of space requirements - Reduction of processing time - Cost reduction Concept DS: Very high rigidity thanks to: - Separate x- and z-slides (no compound slide) - Upper of the machine designed as welded monoblock filled with polymer concrete High thermal stability thanks to: - Cooled motor spindle - Controlled fume exhaust - Chip conveyor Short ancillary process times: - Rapid traverses of up to 60 m/min at high accelerations; hydraulic weight counterbalance in the vertical axis - Feed and removal of the work piece at speeds of up to 120 m/min, that means loading and unloading of the spindle takes less than 6 seconds - Turret indexing time < 1 sec. High flexibility: - Tailored to the manufacturing job to be handled - Construction and manufacturing of automation, e.g. gantry, manipulators, gripper components, storage, magazines, conveyor etc. all from the house RASOMA Concept DWS: -Two independently controlled compound slides allow the simultaneous processing of shaft-type work pieces up to ca. 600 mm in length with two tools (depending on clamping device and clamping principle). - The firmly mounted headstock and moveable tailstock with fixed center ensure high stability during the processing. - The programmable tailstock force allows flexible sensitivity, so that face driverapplications as well as thin shafts can be machined perfectly. - Process automation can be realized in many ways, for example with our very economic, proven machine integrated and highly flexible RASOMA articulating gantry loader. - The working area is characterized by excellent accessibility to the tool turrets, the motor spindle and the tailstock, as well as by prolemfree chip flow along the 90°-bed edge into the chip conveyor. - To achieve better damping characteristics, multiple ribbed monoblock-machine base is filled with either more or less polymer concrete, depending on the machining application.
