Optimized software and hardware that convince

Higher speeds and torques also entail higher risks in the case of collisions. That’s why machine safety solutions for deep-hole drilling and milling centers are also a priority in Frankfurt. With the help of the exhibited TFZ 2-1000 we present the integrated machine AIRBAG from Engineering3D in action. It protects the deep-drilling & milling center and its spindles in crash situations by means of 3D acceleration sensor technology, which in the event of collisions triggers a full braking in less than a millisecond. Severe deformation and damages are thus prevented in critical cases. Additional options supplement the safety concept. For example the additional security prompt prevents a potential collision of the drilling and milling spindle with the chip box cartridge and the steady rests. The dynamic collision monitoring (DCM) detects imminent collisions of the tool and stops the corresponding axis with an error message. The Quick Check Kinematics function (QCK) measures and corrects the kinematic accuracy of the machine. Attendees can also see the manifold possibilities of the 3D CAM system GIBcam-DRILL, which the Dresdner Gesellschaft für Industrieberatung developed.
