Could you tell us a little more like cable config pin outs and software your using for communications I think the alarm is a DR off alarm (data set ready) I don't have a book with me but it will be in your book. Also check the port number and parameters on the machine.
We are using a basic 25-pin serial straight though. And yes it is a DR Off alarm.
We are using Master Cam to send program via COM1 on a PCMCIA serial card.
Not sure about the parameters in the controller.
First you cant use a straight though cable you need a NULL modem cable or adapter if it is 25 to 25 pin you can also make your own I could give you the pin outs if your going to make it. is this a 25 to 25 no 9 pin adapter at the laptop?
Yes, it is a 25 pin to 25 pin. What would be the pinouts for this cable? I will make a cable from scratch to make sure that is not an issue.
25 pin machine 25 pin PC
2 to 3
3 to 2
4 to 5
5 to 4 you can also jumper 4&5
6 6,8&20 pumper at the machine
8
20
if you jumper 4&5 you can't use hardware handshaking must XON/XOFF
Also when you get your cable up try punching a program out from the machine first and tell me what you get.
I will try that and get back to you. Thank you for your help so far.
I forgot about pin 7
pin 7 to pin 7
sorry
jim how about a 9 to 25 pin? i could use the pinout for that cable config,... it's for a bridgeport with a dx II cntroller
Enter setting screen, choose 0,1,2,3,4 in I/O item. Try to?
