Senior R&D Engineer CVD Coatings

We search

Your Responsibilities:

  • Development of new CVD coating processes, materials and equipment

  • R&D work and project management within Walter, within Sandvik Machining Solutions or with partners in academia

  • Implementation of new technology and processes in production

  • Support of production, technology and quality assurance at the Walter production units

  • Collaboration with other R&D functions and Product Marketing in grade development projects

  • Materials characterization by electron microscopy, XRD and other techniques

We expect

Your Profil:

  • Strong academic background in chemistry, materials science or physics; preferably on PhD level

  • At least 3-5 years of work experience in industrial research and development of cutting tools; ideally in the area of CVD coatings

  • Profound knowledge of advanced materials characterization techniques, especially electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction

  • Knowledge of the technology and use of CVD process equipment is a plus

  • Open-minded personality, team spirit and good communication skills

  • Hands-on mentality, results-oriented work style

  • Excellent communication skills in english and german language
