STOPP was founded in 1938 by Dr.-Ing. Robert Stopp in Berlin. The main focus was the production of thread gauges and thread milling tools. Production was then carried out in Hohenstein-Ernststahl. In 1958 an activity was started in Weinheim an der Bergstraße. A machine program of small turning machines was developed which were sold under the series EPM. In 1968 Dipl-Ing. Reiner Stopp became active in the company. Over the years, a machine program with a focus on turning technology and automation developed.
