BLUM Probes in the Manufacturing of Medical Instruments
At Getsch+Hiller Medizintechnik GmbH, the quality standards for machining centres and accessories are extremely high. That is why workpiece probes and tool seting probes from Blum-Novotest play a key role in the manufacturing of medical instruments at the company based in Tuttlingen, Germany.
“We manufacture instruments for many areas of the body and the medical industry, including scissors, forceps, drills and biopsy spoons for taking tissue samples. Our customers expect the highest level of quality from us; after all, they use our products on and inside the human body,” explains Wolfgang Epple, Head of the Milling Department, as he leads the way through the tightly packed machining centres in the production area. Most of the 21 milling machines are Robodrill systems from Fanuc, and are supplemented by a number of machines from Brother and Haas. Getsch+Hiller also operates nine long turning machines, most of which are equipped with automated loading and unloading systems.
