Milling spindles from GMN are used amongst others for applications at mould and toolmaking, at micro machining and at machining of components for aerospace. These spindles are designed and manufactured on customised demands. Know-how and experience of our technicians incorporates constantly into these process. The result is an optimal designed product for the respective application.

These spindles are available with GMN grinding quill interface and with HSK interface. The maximum speed is 250,000 rpm (series UHS) and the housing diameter covers the range from 80 up to 230 mm.

Grinding spindles from GMN are used with an experience for more than 80 years. The reasons for outstanding products of this spindle type are the knowledge we have gained over many years and the constant further development. The GMN grinding spindles are mainly "standard catalogue spindles". That means, the data for the most suitable spindle for a special application can be immediately chosen out of a wide range of standard products by the design engineer of a machine tool.

GMN manufactures besides standard bearings ? spindle ball bearings, deep groove ball bearings, hybrid bearings - in the precision classes P4/P2 resp. ABEC 7/9 and HG as well as UP according to GMN factory also special bearings. These are touchdown bearings as well as bearings for vacuum technology, medical technology, machine tool applications, measurement/navigation technology and bearing systems.

GMN freewheel clutches can be used as indexing devices, backstops or overrunning clutches. Our sprag type freewheel clutch guarantees highest torque capacity and highest indexing accuracy in a minimized constructed space for a huge variety of different applications.

On the basis of long experience in the development and production of machine components, GMN has specialized in manufacturing high quality products in the area of non-contact seals and beyond a comprehensive standard product range also offers customer-oriented special solutions.

The Embedded System IDEA-4S stands for “Integrated Data Acquisition and Evaluation for Spindles”. It records signals from the sensors or sensor systems connected to the small electronics in spindles or motors, evaluates them and makes them available via an IO-Link interface. IDEA-4S fits perfectly into modern IIoT structures. IO-Link can be used as an interface independently of fieldbus systems and, therefore, employed universally for all kinds of control systems.
