IndustryArena News - May 2026

NewsletterMay '26
Our popular discussion forum for the manufacturing industry has recently been given a fresh new appearance. As part of extensive optimizations, we have not only upgraded our servers, but also thoroughly revamped the forum section. After all, it was time for a bit of a spring clean.

In this edition of our newsletter, you will learn more about the server migration and forum update, what defines a true Precision Beast, how to enable a connected shop floor, and which business member is featured in our company portrait. You should also not miss the new video highlights, current machine offers, and all the other exciting topics.
Micro5 XL – The Precision Beast

Precision does not require mass – but rather a machine design that perfectly combines dynamics, stability and efficiency. Designed for applications in medical and precision engineering, mechanical engineering, electronics, and tool and mould making, the CHIRON Group has expanded its tried-and-tested Micro5 concept with the new Micro5 XL into a true Precision Beast – incredibly powerful and astonishingly versatile. Despite its compact design, the machine delivers impressive performance and opens up an expanded range of applications in demanding industries and new markets.

Server Migration and Forum Update

Over the past few weeks, we have been working hard on optimising the technical aspects of IndustryArena. The portal is now running on a new, more powerful and more stable server structure. In addition to that, we have extensively updated the forum section and migrated it to a modern software environment with many useful features.
This brings a number of improvements for you. Benefit from greater stability and response times on the portal, use the forum’s new AI tools, and be part of a highly active international manufacturing community.
If you encounter any problems in the near future or have comments, questions, or criticism, please feel free to contact us at any time by email at [email protected] or via our ticket system. We will do our best to take your feedback into account during further optimization.
Thank you very much for your support. We look forward to seeing you on the portal and in the forum!

COSCOM Enables a Connected Shop Floor for BERG

BERG, a manufacturer of clamping devices in Germany, demonstrates a 100% error-free information flow: the APplus ERP system, the ESPRIT EDGE CAD/CAM system, HAIMER tool presetting, as well as 18 turning and milling centers are all connected via COSCOM’s central data platform.
COSCOM is a software system provider that standardizes, networks, and optimizes production data for machining.
„All activities are displayed in a single user interface. Employees no longer have to search for information across five different systems,“ says Oliver Oberkoch, CAM Programmer and Production Planner at BERG.

Support for a Successful Trade Fair

With this year’s GrindingHub, we recently had the opportunity to successfully support the organisation of an important industry event – from graphic design offline and online to content management for the trade fair website and regular newsletter distribution. We would like to thank the GrindingHub team for the excellent collaboration and hope that many members of the IndustryArena community also enjoyed successful days at the trade fair.
As an experienced communications and marketing agency, we are also happy to support other events with our broad range of services. If you are interested, please feel free to contact us at any time.

No opening during abrupt spindle stop! RÖHM drill chucks with the new Shock Absorbing System (SAS)
Ready for the worst?case scenario. The latest generation of cordless screwdrivers and cordless hammer drills can, in rare cases, cause the drill chuck to open during a sudden, hard spindle stop. What admittedly happens only infrequently in practice is made virtually impossible by RÖHM’s patented SAS (Shock Absorbing System).
